This is Part two of my 2024 summer visit of students' homes.
This 9th grader lives with her uncle, aunt, and older cousin. His father died about 7 years ago and his mother (who is deaf and dumb) remarried and left. His cousin is in high school He is outstadning in school and hopes to get in the best high school in Ningguo.。 |
THis little girl of 3rd grade lives with her grandpa. Her parents divorced and then her father passed away. Her grandma died too last year, unfortunately. Her mother rent a room in the city and came to see her from time to time (not regularly). She lives drawing pictures and English. |
THis 8th grader lives with her grandparents and father. Her grandpa is handicapped. Her father does odd jobs to support the family. She is outstanding in school and helps with chores at home. |
This 6th grader lives with grandma, her mother, and older brother. Her mom works at a local factory to support the family. Her older brother works in the city to support himself. She likes English and Chinese although a little weak in Mathematics. |
This 3rd grader lives with her grandparents and parents. Both her grandpa and her father are handicappted. Her father lost one leg and still tries to find jobs to help the family. her grandpa is blind. She likes Chinese and sports, and has lunches at school. |
This 4th grader lives with her grandparents, her mom, her older sister, and her uncle and step-father. Her mom is mentally disabled. Her father died at her early age. Her uncle married her mom at her grandparents' urging and is a very responsible handyman. She likes art, and teachers treated her well. She is outstanding in school. Her older sister is a university in Shanghai. She takes bus to school and has lunches ($1 for each lunch) at school. |
