How to Make a Donation

The Hometown Education Foundation (HEF) is seekingyour donationto financially support the poorest students in NingguoCounty, Anhui Province, China to finish their basic elementary to high school education.Yourdonation will make a big positive impact on these needy kids, some ofthem areeven less than 10 years old and most are pre or early teens. Yourdonationis tax deductible in the UnitedStates.We will send you a receipt with HEF's tax exempt number (EIN number).

The Hometown Education Foundation is officially recognized by the IRSas apublic charity. It means that we can receive your company'smatchingdonation if your company has a gift-matching program. Most bigcompanies havesuch a program. Please check with your company about it. Thanks.

If you prefer, you are more than welcome to use Google Checkout above to make a donation too. Since it charges 2% precess fee plus 20 cents starting 2009, we obviously prefer check donation. Thanks a lot for your support either way.

We will update the donor list onthe webperiodically (together with donation amount) to show our appreciationof yourgenerous help and the openness of the process. If you prefer to keepyourdonation anonymous, please let us know. We will keep it that way.

If you prefer personal contact, we can makearrangements foryou to sponsor one or more students. We hope this will bringyou evenmore personal satisfaction by seeing, first hand, how much of adifference yourcontribution makes. It costs you

$50 to sponsor an elementary school studentfor ayear,

$80 to sponsor a middle schoolstudent for ayear, and

$150 to sponsor a high school studentfor ayear.

Here is how it works. You choose one (or more) needy studenttosponsor for a year or more, and send the donation to HEF. Wewill givethe money to the sponsored student and inform him/her of your support.We willreport his/her progress to you. If you like, you are more than welcometo be indirect contact with him/her.
