  1. We received almost  $26,000 generous donation from you  during the fisical year of 2007. In summer we sent $20,000 to Ningguo County, Anhui China to  473 needy students for the academic year 2007-08 (together with about $15,000 donation from China),  up from last year's 390. The cost for supporting  these students is about $30,000. In addition, our partner Ningguo Sino-US Education Association helped secure  local business's direct  support of  30 needy students in one local high school. Thanks a lot for your generous support which makes this happen.

     2.   I visited the needy students twice this year, one during the summer, and one during the winter break. I  saw in person their plight   and their appreciation of your generous support.  For example,  Yan Jun is a 4th grader. His father fell down from a house more than one year ago while working as a construction worker and injured himself badly. Nothing below his neck could move.  The contractor paid the initial $2000 medical expense, but refused to pay afterwards. His father died in May with about $6000 debt and lawsuit not done yet. Imagine how devastating this accident is to him, his mother, and his grandma. Now imagine how horrible it is for  his mother to choose between  using little money they borrow to pay for her husband’s medicine to keep him alive and to hope for his recovery or  using it to pay for her son’s vital education. Thanks to your support, she did at least not need to make a decision on this. Jing Li is a 3rd grader born in 1997. Her father died three years ago of car accident, and her mother left. She lives with her aging grandma and depends on his father's sister's help for living.  Please check  Summer-07  and  Winter-07 for more stories.

   3. Dr.  Ren Yonghong
donated extremely generously almost $3000 stock options, and intends to find trusted people in his home county in Shanxi, China to establish a similar partner (as in Ningguo) to support needy kids there using your generous support. Special thanks to him.

    4. Congratulations to
four of our supported high school students  Mr. Hu  Zi-Yun,  Miss Yan Li-Min,   Mr. Jan Hun, and Miss Fan Lin-Jun who overcome financial and other difficulty to be accepted to regular colleges through the highly competitive college entrance exam. In particular, Hu Zi-Yun has not only overcome his family difficulty but also his own heart surgery less than one year ago. He got into Shanxi Medical University to study medicine---his dream---to help other patients like his father and himself in future. For their photos and other photos related to my recent visit to the needy kids, please check

  5. Special thanks to Drs. Li Jian-Shu and Liao Ren-Lan
, who decided to continue to support Miss Yan Li-Min through college. They have supported her through high school.

   6.
Special thanks to Drs. Adems, who gave Miss Fan Lin-Jun extra $150 to help reduce her burden during her first year of college.

7. We received  ovwe  $200 from `www.goodsearch.com’
through your using it for online search. Now you can also use it for your online shopping to benefit our cause. Please see its webpage (above) for simple instruction. Please ask your friends and colleagues to use it to help us too.
