2. I
visited the needy students twice this year, one during the summer, and one
during the winter break. I saw in person their plight and
their appreciation of your generous support. For example, Yan Jun
is a 4th grader. His father fell down from a house more than one
year ago while working as a construction worker and injured himself badly.
Nothing below his neck could move. The contractor paid the initial $2000
medical expense, but refused to pay afterwards. His father died in May with
about $6000 debt and lawsuit not done yet. Imagine how devastating this
accident is to him, his mother, and his grandma. Now imagine how horrible it is
for his mother to choose between using little money they borrow to
pay for her husband’s medicine to keep him alive and to hope for his recovery
or using it to pay for her son’s vital education. Thanks to your support,
she did at least not need to make a decision on this. Jing Li is a 3rd grader
born in 1997. Her father died three years ago of car accident, and her mother
left. She lives with her aging grandma and depends on his father's sister's
help for living. Please check Summer-07
and Winter-07 for more stories.
3. Dr. Ren Yonghong donated
extremely generously almost $3000 stock options, and intends to find trusted
people in his home county in
