On Friday June 28, Mr. Hu and I visited Huining First and Second High School and talked with poor students we supported. We started to support students here three years ago, so the first graduates are this year. Almost all of them got into first or second level universities. They appreciate our support very much. We told them where the money come from (donors like you) and I encouraged them to work hard in college and look for part time job to earn money and more importantly gain working experience for future employment. They showed us around the campuses and we chatted freely along the way. It was a very positive experience.
On Wednesday July 3, we had a meeting with about 90 high school graduates in Ningguo (we do it every summer). A college graduate shared her college experience, Mr Hu and Ms Guo gave them insturctions on how to apply for financial aid from us and from government and told them our expectation for undergraduates. I gave them advices about college study and life. I also answered some of their questions. Here are some photoes. I also visited students' homes both in Huining and Ningguo, which are in Summer1 and Summer 2.
A college graduate shared her experence. She was admitted to Zhejiang U for her graduate study from a level 2 university. |
